The difficult second post.

Ok, so now that I've promised to be entertaining I've found myself having to live up to that promise. Why are these things always easier to say than do. I mean, you start off well, you pat yourself on the back for having started something you've been promising yourself you'll do for a while BUT then you've to follow through, the difficult bit. Reminds me of my promise to knit for SANDS.

SANDS stands for Stillborn and Neonatal Death http://www.uk-sands.org/. Ann, a member of the Stitch n' Bitch IE group collects together the baby knits any of the the group members make for the charity and sends them off to them. So, I started off with lots of enthusiasm in November and did some hats for SANDS. In December I wasn't able to make the meeting and didn't get around to knitting anything for SANDS as I was trying to get lots of last minute Christmas presents knit up (which I am still doing!). Then January rolls along and 3 days before the meeting I remember my promise.

I start out with gusto on an intricate baby jacket knit in one piece in the round - big mistake. After an evenings knitting I've only got 2 inches done. I abandon. I start again the next evening, change the yarn, change the design, back to simple quick knits and before the evenings through I have a hat and bootees and another promise - to stop making promises.

My pathetic attempt at the intricate baby jacket, it just grew too slowly for me - patience is not one of my strengths and I'm not sure if 4ply is for me!

Here's the hat and bootees before sewing up......... & the finished articles below.
