Week ending

Since this weekend is all about tennis ( it's the August Bank Holiday Tennis Open at our club), we are eating, drinking and breathing tennis this weekend. Both myself and DH were knocked out in both the singles and doubles on the first day so we got a chance to play in the plate competition yesterday. On Saturday the weather was way too hot to play - there wasn't a puff of air but Sunday brought welcome relief in the form of much needed rain, however the skies chose to unleash their wrath just as we started to play. So, I've discovered I don't play well in sweltering heat and as it happens I don't play well in lashing rain either. So, loserville all round in our house this weekend.

Today though is a treat. The sun has returned, we've no tennis to play and we can sit and watch the real tennis players compete in the finals. We'll sit in the sun, have a drink or two and watch how it's really done. Best part of the weekend and suddenly losing has it's own reward.
